The Dream Role Project

I invite a well-known actor to create the dream role they never had, or could ever hope to have. It could be a recreation of an iconic photo or scene from a film. It has to be self-deprecating, ironic, tinged with absurdity. A twist.

Gary Oldman as Cary Grant. A.

London. 2024. Fine Art Print on Canson Baryta Paper.
100cm x 100cm.

I wanted to recreate the iconic moment of Cary Grant running from a biplane in the Hitchcock film, North by Northwest. I went for a subtextual meaning - demons are always there to chase us etc. In life, there is no closure. It’s like a bad dream.

Costume: Guy Speranza.

Adrian Dunbar as Danny Kaye. A.

The Dolomites, Italy. 2023. Fine Art Print on Canson Baryta Paper. 120cm x 90cm.

I invented a line that might have been in Danny Kaye’s autobiography: “All she had to do was whistle. I was infatuated.”

Make-up and hair: Ilaria Zamprioli and Fabio Lucchetti.

Tara Fitzgerald as Audrey Hepburn.

The Spanish Steps, Rome. 2023. Fine Art Print on Canson Baryta Paper. 120cm x 93cm.

A recreation of a scene from the film, Roman Holiday. We wanted to be faithful to the period - fake pubic hair is the weirdest order I’ve ever placed on Amazon.

Costume: Claudette Lilly.

Ludovica Martino as Elizabeth Taylor.

Rome. 2023. Fine Art Print on Canson Baryta Paper. 120cm x 77cm.

Elizabeth Taylor had a doctor, the “quack” Rex Kennamer. He traveled with her everywhere, dispensing prescription pills and questionable advice. As the director Laurence Harvey once said, “Her health was her favorite subject after her diamonds.”

Make-up and hair: Ilaria Zamprioli and Fabio Lucchetti. Wig: Rocchetti.
